Music in General
Music is a form of art; an expression of emotions through harmonic frequencies. Music is also a form of entertainment that puts sounds together in a way that people like, find interesting or dance to. Most music includes people singing with their voices or playing musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, drums or violin. music is a collection or composition of sounds or tones, which have a certain rhythm, and contain the content or value of certain feelings.
Music according to (Alfred Auerbach, University of California) is the language of the world, it doesn’t need to be translated, in music speaking from the soul to the soul.
the art of music has been interpreted in such a way that in almost every aspect of life, primitive societies use music not merely as a means of entertainment alone, but they use it as a tool for religious rituals, customs and even as a means of communication in social life.
Grouping The Type of Music by A Stream:
- Art Music: art music is a term grouping the type of music that refers to the theory of European Classical music form or other types of ethnic music that is absorbed or taken as the basis of its composition.
- Classical Music: This type of classical music or classical music genre is more referring to classical European music, but there is also the classical music of India, Persia and so forth. Types of music are also periodic, such as baroque, classical and romantic.

- Funk: Funk is a stream of music that contains elements of African-American dance music. - Rock: The earliest form, rock, and roll, was a mixture of genres in the late 1940s, with musicians such as Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, and Elvis Presley. - Metal, Hardcore: Metal is a harder musical flow compared to Rock although there are also metal bands that have songs with songs that seem slow.

- ska, reggae, dub: From a mixture of R & B music and traditional musical mento from Jamaica appeared ska, and later developed into reggae and dub.
- Hip-Hop, Rap: Hip hop music can be regarded as an R & B subgenre. This type of music is also mixed with heavy metal to produce rapcore.

3. Traditional Music: Traditional music is music that lives in the community for generations, maintained not as a means of entertainment alone, but there is also used for treatment and there is a means of communication between humans with their creators, this is according to the belief of each person alone. Traditional music is a local art treasury in the community.
- Latin: This Latin traditional music genre usually refers to Latin American music including music from Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. This latin music has a Samba subgenre.
- Country: Traditional country music is influenced by blues, and evolved from white American culture, especially in the city of Nashville.
I like the kind of pop music from Indonesia because the lyrics are easy to understand and can be quick to touch the heart if heard or sung. My favorite female singer is Rossa, and my favorite male singer is Arilasso. They are famous musicians and songwriters in Indonesia. They have created many songs.
